My Journey Into Real Estate

I was born and raised in Seattle and found myself exposed to real estate at an early age. Growing up, I lived through multiple remodels, helped my parents fix up their rental property, and worked as a property manager during college. I amassed a lot of experience and knowledge in all things real estate, but decided to put my interest on hold while I went a more "traditional" route. After graduating from the University of Washington with a BS in Electrical Engineering, I moved to the Washington DC area to work for the US Patent & Trademark Office and to pursue a law degree at George Mason (Antonin Scalia Law School). I was lucky enough to be offered a remote Patent Examiner position and moved back home to the Greater Seattle Area in 2011 where I met my wife and now we have three little boys to run after.

After sleep-training our third kiddo and some encouragement from my wife, I finally decided to focus on my passion for real estate. Throughout the years, many of my friends and acquaintances would ask me for real estate advice ranging from recommended neighborhoods, the home buying process, loans, inspections, and pricing. I had always kept up to date with the current market trends and often found myself perusing recent listings out of curiosity to see what was available, what it was listed at, and what it ultimately sold for.

It took me a while to get here, but the experiences that help me excel as a Patent Examiner present me with unique wisdom and insight to help you. I've spent countless hours communicating and negotiating with lawyers so I know how to advocate for you when working with the other party. Also, part of examining patents requires me to research comparable technologies by tailoring searches, many times to find something very obscure. This skill translates over to my approach in real estate where I helped one of my clients find their ideal property that wasn't even listed.

As I've been raising my family and working at home full-time for the past decade, I understand how significant the house you will call home can be. Real estate is more than a career to me. I find joy and excitement helping people into the next stage of their lives, and you can have confidence that I will always have your best interests at the forefront as we embark on this journey together.
